Description:
The Senior Estimator leads the conceptual and detailed cost modeling process for Healthcare and Senior Living projects and is responsible for the creation of budgets and estimates from Feasibility through Design Development phases to provide a Guaranteed Maximum Price for complete site and building construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Conceptual Project Analysis Budgeting: Fields budget requests and collects all information to determine an appropriate model to fit the request based on design input, historical data and regional comparable; provides statements of assumptions, clarifications, exclusions, and alternates while proactively working with the project team to validate assumptions for risk assessment and management.
Detailed Construction Cost Estimating: Creates opinion of probable cost through construction document estimates from the respective level of drawings, generates qualifications, and establishes labor rates and market conditions with construction operations team.
Analysis: Conducts analysis of past performance on projects and assists the Chief Estimator to develop standards for future estimates based on analysis.
Construction Support: Produces construction budgets, change orders, and other construction costing information to assist field team with change order analysis.
Documentation: Assists the Project Manager, Construction with preparation of instructions to bidders, bid form and other bid solicitation information; prepares conceptual budgets through construction document estimates. Ensures the flow of project information is maintained and documented until the project is transferred to the respective project manager.
Requirements:Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or related field required
Certifications and/or Licenses:
ASHE HCC - Certification preferred
ASPE - Certification preferred
AACE - Certification preferred
Relevant Experience & Training:
3-5 years of estimating experience on healthcare or senior living projects; design-build experience preferred
Estimating software knowledge including JD Edwards, Prolog, Modelogix, MC2/Sage or Beck-Tech
Proficient in MS Office, including advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of construction markets, and trends in healthcare or senior living design and construction
Ability to read and interpret construction documents
Excellent documentation and communication skills
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a variety of environments: remotely from a home office, at Erdman headquarters and other locations, and at client sites.
10% national travel required.
